The peristaltic pump required for a milk analyzer generally has the following requirements:
1. Flow rate: Since only about 30ml of milk is needed for analysis, a low-flow-rate pump is sufficient.
2. Motor: Due to the high accuracy requirements of the analyzer’s sample flow rate, a stepper motor should be considered.
3. Tube size: Since milk viscosity is generally around 300 centipoise, delivery can be challenging; therefore, a relatively large 3.2mm or 4.8mm diameter pump tube is recommended.
4. Pump size: Milk analyzers are generally small in size, so a smaller peristaltic pump is more suitable.
Based on the above information, the K15/BT or K4024/BT peristaltic pumps are suitable for milk analyzers. Considering cost, the K15/BT is a better choice. The stepper motor can be connected to an integrated circuit for control and can be connected to RS232 and RS485 signals for efficient and precise control of the peristaltic pump. A smaller peristaltic pump also saves installation space.
