How to select a peristaltic pump?

Peristaltic pump products can be applied to all walks of life, and some industries require the use of peristaltic pumps to ensure the cleanliness of fluid transmission and flow accuracy. So, how do we choose a peristaltic pump model when we need to use a peristaltic pump?

01Determine the needs

First of all, it is necessary to confirm the requirements through various conditions such as flow/accuracy/number of channels/transmission medium/working pressure/suction head or head/working environment/communication/control mode.

02Select the pump head

Number of channels-depends on the pump head structure

The number of rollers-determines the pulsation of the output medium. If the output pulsation is required to be small, a pump head with a large number of rollers should be selected.

Material—Determine the type of transmission medium. If the medium contains organic solvents and corrosive substances, a pump head with a suitable material should be selected.

03choose hose

Inner diameter-determines the flow rate of the transmission medium and is directly proportional to the flow rate.

Wall thickness-determines the output pressure of the medium, the greater the wall thickness, the greater the output pressure.

Material—Determine the type of conveying medium and the service life of the hose. If the medium contains organic solvents and corrosive substances, a hose with a suitable material should be selected.

Note: If the hose is used for a long time, it may rupture due to wear and tear, which may cause fluid to overflow, which may cause injury to the human body or equipment. Therefore, the hose status should be checked frequently and replaced in time.

04Select the drive

Rotation speed-determines the flow rate of the transmission medium and is directly proportional to the flow rate.

Accuracy-depends on the speed control accuracy

Material—Determine the working environment of the product. If the working environment contains corrosive substances, a driver with a suitable material should be selected.

Protection level-determines the working environment of the product. For example, if the working environment requires waterproof and dustproof, you should choose a driver that is suitable for the IP level.
